Company History
Universal Industrial Services was founded in 1994 by Neil Hughes. The company fast developed a name for its ability to carry out the most challenging Installations of any steelwork and metalwork, in a safe and organised manner, giving its clients the assurance and confidence that their projects would be completed to the highest standard, on time without compromise.
New Vision
In 2017 Neil retired after a long and successful career, and his sons Kev and Jake along with his nephew Nick, took control of the business. Using the solid foundations built by Neil, Kev, Jake, and Nick have taken what was a relatively small operation, and grown it to what it is today.
Recognising the company’s potential to expand, they have taken what was predominantly an Installation only service, to the next level. The company now can cover all aspects of design, detail, manufacture, fabrication and Installation.
We Serve The Entire UK
Our workforce is locally recruited in Yorkshire, but we have the capabilities to cover work across the whole of the UK. We are committed to ongoing staff training that enables us to have a multiskilled workforce, maximising our flexibility and ability to deliver projects on budget, on time and to the best possible standard.
Based at Hellaby, Rotherham, just off the M18 in South Yorkshire, we are well placed to serve all parts of the UK.

We are also accredited to BS EN 1090 Execution class 2 and have, Alcamus safe contractor and CHAS advanced membership.
