Founded in 1994 around one fabrication bay and a drawing board, UIS today runs four fully equipped bays, a dedicated site installation team, and ISO 9001 / EN 1090 accreditation - from a single site in Rotherham.
We haven't scaled by buying other firms or franchising our brand. We've scaled by keeping the craft in-house, hiring well, investing in our workshop, and being the kind of people main contractors and architects come back to.

Primary frames, beams and load-bearing steel.
Design, detail and fabricate primary structural steel from 0.5 to 250 tonne. Warehouses, mezzanines, extensions and plant support frames, delivered to BS EN 1090 Execution Class 2 with full UKCA declaration and CPR-compliant documentation.
Visible steel, finished to spec.
Feature facades, entrance portals, canopies, balconies and custom brackets. Where steel is seen - not hidden behind plasterboard - UIS fabricates to architect-grade tolerances with weld dressing, powder-coat and polished-finish options.
Feature staircases and glass balustrade systems.
Floating-tread staircases, helical stringers, commercial access stairs and glass-panel balustrades - framed, semi-framed or frameless. Stair loading tested to BS 5395, balustrade systems compliant with BS 6180 and Part K.
Walkways, platforms and safe-access systems.
GRP composite walkways and steel access platforms for industrial, utilities, chemical and rail environments. Non-conductive where specified, corrosion-resistant by default, retrofitted to existing plant without shutdowns where possible.

When the fabricator who built it is the same crew who installs it, accountability stays in one place. CSCS-carded operatives, own plant and MEWPs, full RAMS packs, and a site manager SSSTS-qualified on every job.
