What we deliver.
Secondary steelwork is where installation mistakes get expensive. A trim that's 5mm short holds up the cladding gang, a gantry with misaligned fixings reworks the plant deck, a purlin that didn't account for the actual rafter spacing means a site-welded fix on Saturday. We fabricate secondary packages from the survey, not from the GA - and we install with the same crew that dimensioned the piece. Purlins and side rails, eaves beams, gables, wind girts, gantry beams, pipe bridges, plant-deck support, edge protection to HSG150, stair-core secondary steelwork, and architectural trim sections - all fabricated to BS EN 1090 Execution Class 2 with welders individually qualified to BS EN ISO 9606, finishes galvanised or powder-coated through our coordination partners, UKCA-marked with a 12-month defect liability at handover.

Full secondary package scope
Purlins, side rails, eaves beams, wind girts, gable posts, gantry beams, pipe bridges, plant-deck support, edge protection, trim sections, and architectural secondary. All dimensioned from site survey data and fabricated under Factory Production Control to BS EN 1090 Execution Class 2.
Survey-dimensioned, site-installed
Site survey before fabrication - particularly on refurbishment and retrofit packages where primary steel dimensions drift from the original drawings over decades of settlement. 3D-scan and CAD overlay where the structure is irregular. The secondary package lands correctly on the primary rather than requiring site trimming.
HSG150 edge protection compliance
Edge protection to HSG150 construction site H&S guidance, with fall-arrest calculation and Work at Height Regulations 2005 compliance. Fabricated alongside the structural package rather than supplied separately by an edge-protection specialist - one coordination point, one documentation pack, one liability.
Galv, powder-coat, and architectural finish
Galvanising and powder-coat through coordinated finishing partners (galvanising is a specialist process outside our in-house scope). Architectural secondary in hot-rolled mild steel with clear-lacquer finish, powder-coated colours to any RAL, or hot-dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461.

Because secondary steelwork fails at the interface with primary steelwork and with cladding - and we either fabricated the primary alongside the secondary, or we have dimensioned from a survey of the actual primary. A general fabricator making secondary off the GA is dimensioning from a drawing; we dimension from the building. Fewer on-site trim cuts, fewer follow-on-trade delays.
Yes - edge protection on roof-access platforms, plant decks, mezzanines, and stair cores is fabricated to HSG150 with fall-arrest calculations and Work at Height Regulations 2005 compliance. Included in the structural package rather than supplied by a separate edge-protection specialist, which removes a coordination gap and a second liability.
Coordinated through our finishing partners - galvanising and painting is a specialist process we manage externally. We book the galv slot, manage the collection, and deliver the finished secondary to your site on the agreed date.
Depends on finish - bare steel or clear-lacquer packages turn around inside 3-4 weeks from approved drawings. Galvanised secondary adds 5-10 working days for the galv slot. Powder-coated to RAL adds 7-10 days. JIT delivery scheduled against your cladding gang's access window.
