Every steel frame stands or fails on its connections. We detail, fabricate and install the cleats, end plates, moment connections and baseplates your frame needs, to your engineer's connection schedule and BS EN 1090 Execution Class 2.
Where a steel frame really comes together.
Connections are where a structural frame is really made. A beam is only as good as the cleats, end plates and welds that tie it into the columns around it, and a column is only as strong as the baseplate and holding-down bolts that anchor it to the foundations. We take your structural engineer's connection design, produce the fabrication drawings, and make every connection in our own workshop under BS EN 1090 Execution Class 2, welded by coded welders to BS EN ISO 9606. Then our own installation teams bolt and site-weld it together on site, so one team owns the steel from the connection detail through to the signed-off frame.

Bolted connections
Cleats, fin plates, end plates and splices, drilled and prepared to your connection schedule so the frame bolts up right first time on site.
Moment connections
Full-strength moment and portal connections with haunches and stiffeners, for frames that have to carry moment through the joint.
Baseplates and holding-down bolts
Column baseplates stiffened to suit the load, with holding-down bolt assemblies and setting-out templates for the groundworks team.
Welded connections
Shop welds made by coded welders to BS EN ISO 9606, with the weld procedures and traceability your building control officer will ask for.
Gussets, cleats and stiffeners
The plated components that transfer load through a joint, cut and drilled on our own CNC line for a repeatable, accurate fit.
Connection detailing
We take the forces from your structural engineer and produce the connection details and fabrication drawings for approval, so nothing is cut until the joints are signed off.
Connections are the part of the frame you cannot see and cannot get wrong.
That is why we keep them in-house from detail to installation. Your engineer sets the forces; we produce the connection details, fabricate every cleat, plate and weld to BS EN 1090 Execution Class 2, and install with our own teams. One chain of responsibility from the connection schedule to the frame that gets signed off, with the drawings, weld records and declaration of performance to back it up.

Every connection is fabricated in-house on our own CNC and welding lines, not bought in, so the tolerances and the traceability stay under our control.

We work from your structural engineer's connection design, or from their end forces, then produce the connection details and fabrication drawings for approval. The primary structural design stays with your engineer; we detail, fabricate and install to it.
Every connection is fabricated to BS EN 1090 Execution Class 2 and UKCA marked, with structural welds made by coded welders to BS EN ISO 9606. You get the declaration of performance and the weld records with the steel.
Yes. We fabricate column baseplates, stiffened to suit the load, and supply the holding-down bolt assemblies with setting-out templates so the groundworks team can cast them in accurately.
Yes. Our own directly employed installation teams handle the site bolting and any site welding, so the connections are completed by the same firm that made them.
We can. We survey the existing steelwork, then detail and fabricate connections that tie new steel into the existing frame, which is common on extensions, alterations and strengthening work.
